Section 1

Who we are

Driftwood is operated by Amy Hansen ("we," "us," "our"). The product is available at app.mydriftwood.app and related domains including mydriftwood.app. For questions about these terms, contact us at hello@mydriftwood.app.

Section 2

What you're agreeing to

By using Driftwood, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree, you shouldn't use the service. These terms apply to all users - free and paid.

You need to be at least 16 years old to use Driftwood. By using it, you confirm that you are.

These terms are alongside (not a replacement for) our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.

Section 3

Your content

You own everything you put in Driftwood. Your content - text, voice recordings, photos, sketches, and AI conversations - belongs to you. We don't claim any rights to it.

By uploading content to Driftwood, you give us a limited license to store and process it - solely to provide you the service. Nothing more. We don't sell your content, display it to others, or use it to train AI models.

You're responsible for what you put in. Don't use Driftwood to store or distribute content that's illegal, harmful to others, or that violates someone else's rights.

You can export all your content and delete everything at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent.

Section 4

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Accounts are personal - don't share your account with others. Driftwood is a single-user tool by design.

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. We'll try to give you notice unless the situation requires otherwise.

Section 5

What we do and don't promise

We work hard to keep Driftwood running and to protect your data. But we can't guarantee the service will always be available, error-free, or exactly as described. Software is imperfect. We do our best.

Important: Driftwood is not a medical or mental health service. The AI conversation feature is not a therapist, counselor, crisis service, or medical professional. Nothing in Driftwood should be taken as clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you're in crisis or need immediate help, please contact a crisis service or emergency services in your area.

We care deeply about wellbeing - it's why we built this. But caring isn't the same as being qualified to treat. We're not.

To the extent permitted by law, Driftwood is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before any claim.

Section 6

Ending the relationship

You can stop using Driftwood at any time. To delete your account and all your data, go to Settings → Delete everything. This is permanent and we won't be able to recover it.

If you're on a paid plan, your subscription will not auto-renew after cancellation. Any remaining time in your billing period is yours to use.

We can terminate your account if you violate these terms. We'll tell you unless we're legally prevented from doing so, or unless the violation is severe enough that immediate action is warranted.

Section 7

Disputes

If something goes wrong, reach out to us first at hello@mydriftwood.app. Most things can be sorted out directly. We'd rather talk than argue.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If a dispute can't be resolved informally, it'll be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of California.

Section 8

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or with an in-app notice before the changes take effect - with at least 14 days' notice for significant changes.

Continuing to use Driftwood after new terms take effect means you accept them. If you don't agree with the changes, you can delete your account before they come into effect.

The current version of these terms will always be at mydriftwood.app/terms.
